Ramsey Perez
Social Media Coordinator

Ramsey was born and mostly raised in El Paso, graduating from Parkland High School in 2022. While in high school, he was a very involved student in many student organizations and clubs. The one he focused on the most was band. Ramsey served as drum major and social media manager for the Parkland Matador Band for both his junior and senior year. Ramsey earned Outstanding Drum Major for his class at the EPISD Marching Invitational in his last marching season. During his senior year, he also competed in the annual DMLA National Drum Major Competition where he placed third in the world class division and won fan-favorite for his division.

 

After graduating high school, Ramsey went on to continue marching band at the University of Texas at El Paso where he is currently studying psychology. During the 2022 marching season, Ramsey joined the Parkland Matador Band staff as the drum major technician where he advised the drum majors throughout their season. At their last competition, they earned their own Outstanding Drum Major Award at the NMSU Tournament of Bands. Ramsey also assisted drum majors from a couple of schools in the Northeast El Paso area such as Irvin High School and Chapin High School.

 

After the 2022 marching season concluded, Ramsey joined and is currently an instructor for the Drum Major Leadership Academy (DMLA) that organizes the annual National Drum Major Competition which Ramsey originally placed in back in 2021.

Carlos Martinez

Carlos was born and raised in El Paso, TX graduating from Burges High School in 1990. Attended UTEP in the mid 1990's, where he was a member of the UTEP Cheerleading Team for 4 years. As a UTEP Yell Leader, Carlos earned NCAA Collegiate All-American honors in 1996.

Currently, Carlos is a 20 year veteran with the El Paso Fire Department and holds the rank of Fire Suppression Technician (driver) as well as a state certified EMT. Carlos has been photographing the Pebble Hills Marching Band and Winter guard teams since 2017. He continued on with Arsenal Drum and Bugle Corps during their 2019 and 2022 season as well as assisting with the Arsenal "Bomb Squad Bistro" throughout their season.  Carlos is also the exclusive photographer for Glory Independent where he has been since 2022.
